All wood floors will show wear over time depending on the traffic and how it is cleaned and maintained. The guidelines below will help ensure your wood floor will stay looking its best for many to years to come.
How to clean your wood floor
Clean regularly
Clean regularly with a vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove the dirt, grit and debris. More regular vacuuming and cleaning is required in higher traffic areas
Approved floor cleaner
Use an approved timber floor cleaner. Do not use water by itself. We recommend Bona Cleaning products. Spray the approved floor cleaner on the surface as per instructions and use a microfiber flat mop over the sprayed area
Clean spills
Clean liquid spills immediately. Remove any stains, food or liquid droppings mopping along the grain
Preventative maintenance
Place mats outside and inside entry doors, wipe your shoes on those mats before entering
Protective pads under the legs of furniture are suggested, chairs with hard castors may damage the surface wear layer of your wood floor
Protect the floor from extreme weather fluctuations. It is recommended to maintain ‘normal living conditions’ in the home where the relative humidity guideline is between 35% to 55% and temperature between 14 to 27 degrees Celsius
